Bea Banfi was born in Rome and graduated in London in 2011. Her works in Graniti is made in a mosaic-like painting technique, a very slow and meditative painting process. The mural aims to give an identity to the area where it was made. A fountain (lavatoio) was once nearby, and it now remains in the memory of Graniti inhabitants. The subject of the painting was shaped and transformed by listening to the locals’ stories and their memories on the place. The artist included elements of her own imagination to supply her lack of knowledge, being from another city. Colours aim to bring a sense of serenity and lightness.
