Janet Haslett is an artist whose work explores the concept of time and its influence on perception, reinterpreting historical narratives to connect the past with the present. Working across painting, drawing, and sculpture, she employs both traditional materials and recycled remnants from her studio, transforming everyday objects into poetic reflections on memory and change. Her art has been exhibited internationally, including at Rumah Lebah Gallery in Java during ART|JOG17, Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, Kensington Contemporary, and Contact Sheet in Sydney. She has undertaken residencies at the Rumah Lebah Gallery in Indonesia, the British School at Rome, ArtSpace Sydney, and Pata Paris Studio, with her works held in private and public collections in Australia and abroad. Holding a Master’s and Bachelor of Fine Art from the National Art School, Sydney, where she now lectures in Drawing, Haslett continues to contribute meaningfully to contemporary art through her reflective and materially inventive practice.
