Lelia Byron

Lelia Byron is an interdisciplinary artist whose vivid paintings capture the people, stories, and atmosphere of both real and imagined places, including her reinterpretation of life in Graniti through bold use of colour. Working across painting, sculpture, murals, installations, and public art, her practice explores themes of connection, sustainability, and social justice. Her projects include murals in Rauma, Finland, using lace-making as a metaphor for language, a sculpture made from plastic waste in Madison, and paintings highlighting women coffee farmers in Colombia and labour struggles in Massachusetts. Educated at Carnegie Mellon University and Chelsea College of Arts, Lelia, originally from New York and now based in Madison, WI, continues to create art that bridges communities and inspires reflection.
