These two murals were created not with paint but through photographs printed on paper and applied to the wall using the technique of découpage. The artists chose this method to symbolise the passage of time, layering image and texture as a reflection on memory and transformation.

Elisa Gonzales Miralles based her work on the legend of Lupo Mannaro — the Werewolf of the Alcantara Valley. Her photography explores how people connect both physically and emotionally, and how they shape their own identities, often focusing on what remains unspoken. With a background in Chemistry and as co-founder of the MADPHOTO school, Elisa’s practice blends technical precision with conceptual depth. Her work, recognised with awards such as the World Press Photo grant in Manila and the FotoPress 07 prize, challenges stereotypes and examines human behaviour. Her acclaimed series WANNABE, published by La Fábrica and featured at PhotoEspaña17, exemplifies her ability to merge scientific clarity with emotional insight while mentoring emerging photographers through MADPHOTO.

Lucía Antebi created a tribute to the Alcantara River and the Women of the Valley, symbols of fertility and beauty within the Sicilian landscape. Born in Buenos Aires, Lucía is a photographer and journalist who studied at Illinois Central College in Chicago and the Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya in Barcelona. She has worked with Oriol Alamany, taken part in Zahara Foto workshops, and collaborated with international publications including Harper’s Bazaar, Rolling Stone, Yo Dona, and Elephant Magazine. Her extensive career includes a solo exhibition following her Graniti Murales residency in 2015, representation by Millennium Images in the UK, and participation in major photography festivals such as Les Rencontres d’Arles and PhotoEspaña. Recognised through scholarships and international collaborations, Lucía continues to contribute significantly to contemporary photography with work that captures both poetic sensitivity and journalistic precision.
