Richard Earl Leong Yu Ralya’s mural for the Graniti Murales Residency celebrates life’s natural cycles – the birth, growth, and abundance of nature. Depicting the hills of Graniti alongside olive oil, wine, and water, it reflects Sicily’s essential elements through vibrant, intertwining lines inspired by Abstract Expressionism. Born in New York and raised in Virginia, Richard discovered his passion for art while studying engineering at UC Berkeley, later earning a BFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. Now living between Sicily and Hawaii, he continues to explore painting, photography, video, and music, serving as Artistic Director of Art Project Graniti and pursuing projects that unite intuition, environment, and creative freedom.
