Alberto Ruce’s mural depicts the traditional craft of Scannu making—a small seat woven from chervil stems—blending subtly into the weathered tones of the wall so viewers must actively search for the image. Part of Transumanze, an artistic collaboration with videomaker Carla Costanza, the project merges mural art and film to highlight forgotten rural traditions and marginal communities in Sicily and beyond. The title also references “transhumance,” an ancient herding practice now largely abandoned. Born in Sicily in 1988, Ruce began as a graffiti artist before studying in Paris and now works from his studio in Marseille, bridging French and Italian artistic influences.
